There was an 18 hour flight. River boats and lucid trips to markets. Food everywhere, I mean everywhere. It was hot and sticky but they kept telling me it’s the cold season. Everyone seemed to be napping but also alert. Humidity sometimes does that to you.
The thing that sticks with me the most though were the stray dogs. Everywhere. Anywhere. Streets and alleys. River banks. Bus stops. Just wandering as we humans do through life. It was as if they were one of us.
They would cross the street as others would. Walk from store to store. Most of all they would rest. People would bring them food and just drop off anything to eat. Hand them stuff while waiting for the crosswalk.
Thailand is truly the land of smiles, even for dogs.
