Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

This is Lake Tahoe, Lonnie in the middle.  He was a great friend of mine.

Lonnie was our dish washer at the resort on South Shore.  Lonnie passed away a little after this picture on his way to work.  He died frozen in the Lake Tahoe winter on the bus bench. It took awhile for people to notice because it was a storm and he just looked like he was chillin waiting, sitting.  He didn’t show for work, which was unusual, so the guys eventually went to look for him.

But let’s not remember his death more so than his life.

Lonnie was a cool cucumber.  Always zen-like and whether it was a stressful day filled with plates or a mellow one if you asked him how he was doing you’d get “same ole’ same ole’.

Lake Tahoe is a special place 6250 feet above sea level with water as clear as glass.  It’s a place where many wandering souls come to gather and figure shit out.  I too was a wandering soul that figured shit out on top of this mountain.

I love you Lonnie.
