Make It, Shake It

I hope if you are reading this then you are also cooking at least three to five times a week.  I hope it becomes natural and integrated into your life so you can just slip in and out like a game of Spades.

It’s really fun to cook for others when you have a base line of flavors, then they become like records ready to mix.

Let’s start with this dressing that you can drizzle over vegetables or a salad.  Then you can reduce into a sauce or just stick your finger in it.

Whatever you do, make your own beats so life can taste your own sound.

I drink this like orange juice sometimes.

I’ll be posting more recipes to add to your crates as we develop our relationship together.

One!

Garlic Grip Vinaigrette

2.5 cups rice wine vinegar
1.25 cups OJ concentrate thawed, no water added
10 Tablespoons of yellow Miso
5 Tablespoons of minced ginger
10 teaspoons of sugar
10 cloves of garlic minced
5 teaspoons of hot Chinese chili oil
2.5 cups of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of soy sauce
2.5 Tablespoons of minced lemongrass
1/2 cup of chopped cilantro
1/2 cup of Thai Basil leaves
2 Tablespoons of chives, minced
2 limes, squeezed
Pinch of sea salt

Have a blender ready and throw all this in except the oil.  Turn on blender and slowly drizzle the oil in.

Done.  You got sauce 4 days.

I want you to mince everything even though you are using the blender because it’s therapeutic and it gets you connected to the vegetable and your dexterity.

If you decide to or don’t have a blender then just put everything together and whisk the oil in slowly in a bowl.

Please feel free to substitute or omit ingredients, especially if you can’t find something. I’d hate that to be the deterrent to not making this.

Transfer to a bottle and shake what your momma gave you whenever you wanna pour it over something.

Enjoy.
