Bubble after bubble
Drenched inside from everything
It looks like nothing is happening
Just like the years that pass by
Arrows they say
Bows and arrows
But it’s only sparrows that return
It wasn’t tar after all
Purposely exuding pain to create islands for sunlight to bake cookies of photosynthesis
Things appearing out of nowhere
It all seems to move so fast
The way you cast that character that surrounded my soul
The way we’d always feed from the same bowl
But now there’s a toll
A toll that must be paid
Thinking you’ve got your mind made
Hogging all that fucking shade
It’s your mind that should be fucking spade
Yet the lava still flows
Underneath it all
Somehow it’s changing and throwing its blows
But you’re too busy
Too damn busy to even notice
Too damn busy thinking about food on the run
Gun to the head
Nightmares in bed
Filling our pencils with lead
Feeding each other shit till we all are dead.
Maybe it wasn’t supposed to be quick after all
I watched a monk seal forage on rocks as my clock stopped
My world rocked
As she came to rest upon the rocks
Then there was no rush
No rush to just feed you so it’s done
It’s what’s going on that we don’t see
That help turn these tomatoes
Into the bees knees.
It’s tomato time.
Take all the tomatoes you can and cut them in halves or quarters depending on size. Douse them in the best olive oil you can get your clammy hands on.
Season them generously with sea salt and cracked black pepper all over. Sprinkle fresh thyme, stem and all, over everything. Then crush some garlic cloves and spread those around.
Place in a 225F oven for about 3 hours till most of the moisture is gone.
You will end up with these candied coins that you can share with others. Pass them out and share the power of slow food with our youth and teach the elders to stop shoving that shit down their throats.
